Sunday night blues!

I’ve never really enjoyed Sunday evenings… Sunday-days are great! Lazy breakfasts in your PJs, a trip round the supermarket to do the food shop and tea at the parents. But Sunday evenings are never relaxing and filled with dread!

I think its a combination of anxiety from not quite achieving all you set out to do during the week, plus the realisation that you have to do it all over again the following week!

But even though my thoughts are taken up with the current load in the washer/dryer, trying to remember if anything was needed for school, or what appointments are scheduled for the week, its not as bad as having to work on a Sunday evening!

Whilst I was working I occasionally had work to do on a Sunday evening but for my other half its a regular occurrence! Having to get a jump on the week ahead by clearing emails from the previous week and prepping for the weeks meetings.

So as I sit here surrounded by washing to be folded, waiting for the next load in the dryer to finish, I’m still great full that I’m not the one staring at the laptop screen!

Dropped the ball…. multi tasking!

As a woman I know I’m meant to be able to multi task….. effortlessly carry out several tasks simultaneously to save time.

This is not a skill I seem to possess!

A classic example of this is me attempting to catch up on emails whilst feeding my child. As I become slightly engrossed in a particularly interesting email, I have taken my eye of the ball and let said child drink an ounce too many before burping.

The result of this is me being brought back to reality by a huge burp in my left ear and vomit all down my back!

Combining a bit of ‘me’ time whilst night feeding has not saved me anytime at all, as I have to clean up, start again and go and make another feed. On top of this i have created more washing (if there could get anymore) and have woken my other-half who had to help me get the vomitty jumper I was wearing over my head without getting any in my hair.

All in all, I’d say an epic multi tasking fail! Even on the simplist level, life is a juggling act and sometimes you don’t always catch all the balls…
